Describe your role in 2-3 sentences: I help our members with any obstacles that arise with getting public records from the courts. I also monitor legislation at the state and local levels that could have a negative impact on background screening, and work to advocate for our members. What is the most unexpected skill you use in your job? Maybe acting. Sometimes playing dumb or putting on a local accent can help get clerks on your side. Describe your personality in three words: • Dedicated • Calm • Funny Something you loved as a child and still love now: The Adventures of Pete & Pete. What would your job theme song be? "One Way or Another" by Blondie. What is the best part of your role with PBSA? I love when I can solve a problem for our members. It's really rewarding when I can help regain access to case info in a court that for whatever reason stopped providing it, or when I'm able to change a bill that would make our members' lives difficult. What is your favourite snack? I'm a big fan of Haribo's Twin Snakes. Favourite Movie: Rushmore. Sarah Austin, Conference Support Coordinator Time with PBSA: 1 month. Describe your role in 2-3 sentences: – I assist in the planning, logistics, and execution of our multiple global conferences throughout the year. I work with PBSA team members and our association members to support speaker coordination, exhibitor and sponsor engagement, and the implementation of event technologies to ensure seamless event delivery. What is the most unexpected skill you use in your job? – I am still learning all the facets of my job, but so far an unexpected skill has been the ability to work independently while learning new tech tools—applying what I've been taught and building on it to navigate systems efficiently and troubleshoot as I go. Describe your personality in three words: • Inquisitive • Lighthearted • Bookworm Something you loved as a child and still love now: Musical Theatre. What would your job theme song be? "We Made It" by Sammy Rae & The Friends. What is the best part of your role with PBSA? Though I'm still new to PBSA, the best part of my role so far has been getting to work with such a welcoming and supportive team. Everyone has been incredibly kind and helpful, and it's made starting this role a really positive experience. What is your favourite snack? Cheese. Favourite Movie: The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
