In a presentation and panel discussion moderated by Alice Quinones, Bart Schermer (Considerati) and Alex Aoun (Valital) touched on GDPR & AI in Europe. They unpacked the legal requirements, emerging AI regulations, and prohibited AI practices. The discussion delved into the ethical considerations of AI-powered background screening, providing attendees with valuable insights for navigating this complex landscape and ensuring compliance. Membership Matters: Volunteer Drive Susie Thomson from Matrix Security Watchdog draw from her experience with PBSA, from not getting very involved in the beginning, to starting out in the Communications committee, to being Chair of the Europe Council and now PBSA Global Board of Directors. She emphasized the value of actively participating in the PBSA and the benefits of becoming more involved, urging attendees to join and help shape the industry's future. Tide of Trivia: Europe's Last Q&A and Splashdown Quiz To cap off a day packed with thought-provoking discussions and networking, the Summit ended on a lighter note with an interactive Q&A session held by Laura Rosianu, Europe Council Manager. This gave attendees a chance to share feedback on the Summit and propose ideas for shaping the future of background screening in Europe, in a fun environment, providing a relaxing finale to a productive day.
